pull it apart

here's one for all the fish-er-roos out there. here is a hand that i just had the joy of playing, take a look...

Party Poker, $0.10/$0.25 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 9 Players

SB: $25.12
Hero (BB): $23.40
UTG: $8
UTG+1: $13.70
UTG+2: $42.05
MP1: $3.95
MP2: $24.65
CO: $21.56
BTN: $24.93

Pre-Flop: T Q dealt to Hero (BB)
2 folds, UTG+2 calls $0.25, 4 folds, SB calls $0.15, Hero checks

Flop: ($0.75) A 8 T (3 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.50, UTG+2 calls $0.50, SB folds

Turn: ($1.75) T (2 Players)
Hero bets $1.75, UTG+2 calls $1.75

what do you put him here? i felt i was looking at a/k, a/q he couldn't lay down or a flush draw he was over valuing

River: ($5.25) J (2 Players)

what do i do now, i'm first to act?
if my read is right do i check to induce a bet or bet out?
do i raise if he bets or just call?
do i lay it down if i'm re-raised?

let me know what you think, and i'll let you know what happened, plus what i think i should have done...showing that i feel i played the hand wrong.

Due to the limp I would place him on Ax with the x not higher ten a 9 or 2 faces.
Personally I would not have bet after the flop. He just checks, so again no indication what he can have.
After the Turn, which is giving you probably the nuts at that moment. You bet the pot and he checks. So if he know something about pot odds he probably has to pair. Not enough tu justify a call when chasing a straight or flush but on this level you never know.

I would place a 2$ bet after the River, although it can be the card which is giving him the nuts by rewarding his foolish play with the runner runner straight.
I would call a re-raise of 4$ but fold on everything bigger than 4.

Curious to the result.

god the more i look at this hand the more it strikes me how badly i played it.

in hindsight i feel i should have played it like this.

limp - yea fine with me, i really don't play marginal hands like this often so i'm not fussed defending my blind, could lead me to difficult decisions later on.

flop - i think a bet here is justified, if only to get information.

turn - well wouldn't you know, the one card that will keep me in the pot. if my read on the flop is correct then a i'm ahead and a pot bet here should push out any draws and take it down. the call here is a little worrying, id he still drawing or does he have a strong ace here he is over valuing?

river - not happy with this card, it eliminates the flush but opens up a straight draw and i'm now worried about j/10.

i should check call here i feel to manage the pot size.

what actually happened.

villian bet out $2.25, i should have called this but i raised. villian went all in and i said to myself, little fucker has slow played a/10 before i called and he flipped a/10!

what good is me putting him on a hand if i then go and ignore it! twonk!!
